Cubo del Sur - South Roundel

An old bastion of the former wall that, «to exclude blacks from the urban area», became the scene of meetings and celebrations with which African and Afro-descendant communities maintained their roots, their identity and their spiritual and cultural values during the 19th century. Although different in its forms and content, the candombe and the troupes that we know today were born here.
